Following the Oct 12th premiere of the documentary “An Inconvenient Study,” the HFH PR folks put out a revised press release*29 adding “Myth #5” that referred readers to that DFP interview “for more on our perspective.”
Unfortunately, I haven't seen anyone yet counter these HFH's claims on social media. Instead, everyone seems focused on Dr. Scott & Professor Morris's “debunking” arguments.

But, sensitivity analysis demonstrated consistent results for those enrolled at least 1-year (HR 2.84 CI 2.31-3.28 ), 3-years (HR 3.48 CI 2.67-4.30), and 5-years (HR 4.05 CI 2.82-5.83 ) HIGHER than the overall 2.54 HR! Point #3b: “75% were only observed up until age 3, which is before doctors can confidently diagnose chronic pediatric diseases.” Really? The CDC guide on studying vax schedule safety shows that many more children are diagnosed < 2 years old with a chronic disease, than between 3 – 8 years old! Point #4: “compared multiple vaccines vs. no vaccines. Point #5: “vaccine guidance has changed over time, but that was not taken into consideration.” Wouldn't changes affect both vaxxed & unvaxxed equally, since cohort study over same 16 year period? Unclear how adding new vaccines to CDC schedule would affect results one way or the other.

In his book “Vaccines, Amen”, ICAN attorney Aaron Siri wrote that the “reasons provided [by HFH for not allowing submission of the study] were … all plainly pretextual … easily addressed in the study itself by the sensitivity analyses ... Meaning they were excuses, not reasons to not submit for publication”*12
I agree with Aaron Siri's assessment that each of HFH's & Johnson's so-called “data flaws” can easily be rebutted. Overall, none of Henry Ford's “flaws” actually hold up to even cursory scrutiny. Is that the best they've got? Pretty pathetic “science” on the part of HFH! They're hardly in the position to “cast stones”!

I have to say that this article is the best summary article of the study and film I've seen. Well written, concise and to the point. Linking to previous studies with similar results is also very helpful for the uninitiated. Especially the story around Dr Paul Thomas having his medical licence taken away for just publishing a study.

Among what Henry Ford Health called the five “fatal flaws” of the study, Christine Johnson (HFH Chair of Public Health), called the “most glaring problem ... the amount of time researchers had to evaluate the onset of chronic disease in the unvaccinated patients … 75% were observed only until age 3, which is before doctors can confidently diagnose many chronic pediatric diseases”*17

Henry Ford Health was incorrect to refer to “the amount of time measuring occurance of disease”. In reality, they were referring to the lower average age of the unvaxxed children. ALL children were observed for the same amount of time: from birth until they either left HFH (changed insurance plans, moved, etc) or the end of the study period in 2016 (p.4) *24 Enrollment time ranged from 2 months to 18 years old).
Why were the unvaxxed children younger? I'll address that question in detail in another post. It could be that the unvaxxed didn't stay in the HFH system as long as the vaxxed? (maybe some HFH doctors hassled parents for not vaxxing their children or kicked them out of their practice?).
But, I think another reason is probably toward the end of the study period (2000 – 2016), more parents were probably choosing not to vax their kids. Since this was a birth cohort study, this would result in the average age of the unvaxxed being much less than the vaxxed children (Lyons-Weiler discussed this issue in his (& Dr. Paul Thomas) 2020 birth cohort study which had a similar difference in enrollment time between vaxxed and unvaxxed)*14
In his oral Senate testimony, Siri said the authors addressed the issue of lower average age of the unvaccinated childen by conducting “a sensitivity analysis whereby they removed any children from the study that weren't in the Henry Ford system from birth onward for at least five years thinking, "Okay, well maybe we got it wrong because the unvaccinated kids just had an average duration of less [enrollment] time. But so by doing that [sensitivity analysis], we're only going to look kids who were in there for at least five years."*20
“And what they found was consistent with the findings [including all ages]... the actual risk ratio of chronic disease amongst the vaccinated went up not down. They also did that sensitivity analysis at three years and at one year and each time they still found the in accinated children a statistically significant increased rate of chronic health issues.”(40:31)*20
In more technical language, Siri wrote in his written Senate testimony, “Vaccine exposure was associated with higher incidence of a chronic health condition for subjects enrolled at least 1-year (IRR 2.75, CI 2.31-3.28), 3-years (IRR 3.38, CI 2.67-4.30), and 5-years (IRR 4.09, CI 2.84-5.90) … Meaning … it revealed even greater harm, not less.” (p.7)*11
“Meaning, when they excluded children who were not enrolled for at least 5 years after birth, it showed vaccinated children had 4.05 times the rate of chronic disease … compared to 2.75 times the rate of chronic disease … when looking at children with all enrollment periods … This type of sensitivity analysis again confirmed the strong validity of the study’s results.”*11
Note: The sensitivity analysis shows as the cumulative number of vaccines increases with age, so does the rate of chronic disease. Looks like a dose-response curve to me! In addition, this relationship is also shown by the 10-yr Kaplan Meier Curve showing Chronic Disease-Free Survival. (p. 19)*24
“[Most unvaxxed were observed only up until] … age 3, which is before doctors can confidently diagnose chronic pediatric diseases.”:
The CDC's 2016 “White Paper on Studying the Safety of the Childhood Immunization Schedule”*21 lists the rate of diagnosis of chronic diseases for children from (birth -- age 2) vs (age 3 -- 8 years old)(Table 3.d, p. 32). This table shows that, for most diseases, the diagnosis rate is greater for children < 2 years old. The main exceptions are ADHD which is diagnosed much more frequently in the older children and autism which is diagnosed at similar rates.
In addition, in Hooker & Miller's 2020 vaxxed-unvaxxed study*22 , Table 3 shows that the average age when children in their study were diagnosed with four chronic diseases was 1.7 years old (68% between 2 months & 3 years old) Average age for developmental delays was 2.1 years, asthma 3.2 years, ear infection 1.4 years, and gastrointestinal disorder 1.8 years.
Finally, the Henry Ford Study's Kaplan Meijer curve shows that many children (vaxed & unvaxxed) were diagnosed before age three years old. (p. 19)*24 And, the KM curve showed the relationship of greater amount of chronic disease held for all ages up to at least 10 years old.
So, Christine Johnson's claim that “age 3 ... is before doctors can confidently diagnose chronic pediatric diseases” is incorrect. Besides, as noted previously, the sensitivity analysis that just looked at those children who were enrolled for longer that 3 or 5 years would catch the majority of all diagnoses.
In other words, what HFH's Chair of Public Health Sciences called the “most glaring problem” was a non-issue. In addition, the sensitivity analysis (and KM curve), that rebutts her claim, suggests a dose response curve showing that the more vaccines children received, the more they suffered from chronic disease.

I may be the only subscriber who feels this way, but your Advaita perspective would be so interesting in any discussion. We need a bird's eye or drone perspective on issues, instead of the mind boggling amount of details. Is there a reason for why things happen? Are you in a world or is the world in you? Is this maya or reality? And can we change the world as so many suggest?
If the study is really "flawed," as HFH claims, the proper response would be to do another study, correcting for the flaws.
I do wonder whether the unvaxxed kids have more conscientious parents, who provide them other health advantages. The followup study could devise ways to estimate that.

Agreed. I wish Dr. Zervos would have had the courage to have taken the chance, even if small, to maybe make a difference. But, Zervos was scared. And for good reason.
Back in 2020, he was the corresponding author of the 2020 Henry Ford study that showed Hydroxychloroquine treatment in the hospital reduced Covid death by 50% (of course, the media & Fauci called the study"flawed"). Zervos took a lot of heat back then. HFH put a gag order on him.
Dr. Paul Thomas published a similar vax-unvaxxed study in 2020 and got his medical license pulled 5 days later. In the film, Zervos even mentioned he didn't want to end up like Peter McCullough who also lost his mainstream career (or the French researcher Didier Raoult).
It's easy to throw stones, but few people, when push comes to shove, are willing to sacrifice. Especially, when they believe they will lose their career for nothing, that their sacrifice won't result in any change. That's why there are so few whistle-blowers out there (see 2019 book "Crisis of Conscience" by Tom Mueller).
Most doctors who bucked the Covid narrative lost their mainstream medical careers, for example: Meryl Nass, Paul Thomas, Pierre Kory, Paul Marik, Peter McCullough. I think everyone likes to believe that would be a hero and would do the right thing, even at tremendous personal cost. Easier said than done.
What Zervos does next will be interesting to watch. He's made it clear he doesn't want to be in the crosshairs again. But how will he proceed with his recommendations and/or vaccine mandates knowing that there is ample reason to be skeptical of their long term benefit?
Whether he likes it or not, the movie has made is true feelings public. He's caught in a tough place. If I were in his shoes I would turn on the establishment immediately and let the chips fall where they may. He's already had a long medical career and probably is not swamped by medical school debt. At some point he should realize that his legacy doesn't mean anything on his death bed. It's always about doing what one thinks is right, not convenient.

For more context, I'd suggest reading Aaron Siri's written Senate testimony which walks a reader through the study (modified from CH 12 of Siri's excellent new book "Vaccines, Amen").
I skimmed this over a couple of times. Hate to be that guy but in the spirit of completeness, or raising issues that the other side may have...did this study look into if the unvaccinated kids suffered more from the target diseases of the vaccines? Measles, Diptheria, RSV and the like? I'm on the side that the scale probably tips against vaccines but I am curious about if they at least have some sort of effect on the target diseases as far as studies go. I suspect even if they do its more in diagnosis than reality. That is kids probably still get acute respiratory disease that would be measels but perhaps without the skin reaction, or even with a skin reaction but they aren't tested because of their vaccine status. For example. I do think the anti-vaccine side has to be above board with all details lest they be used to throw eggs on the larger point at hand.
The Henry Ford Study did not look at "target diseases." However, Lyon-Weiler & Dr. Paul Thomas's 2020 vaxxed vs unvaxxed study listed the "target diseases' both the unvaxxed & vaxxed children caught. See Table 7, p. 16: UnVaxxed: 9 cases Pertussis, 2 Rotavirus, 23 Chicken Pox; and Vaxxed : 1 Pertussis, 6 Chicken Pox. Overall, about 1% chance an unvaxxed child caught a target disease, no deaths.
So the vaccines worked well to reduce disease. BUT, on the other hand, there was a much higher rate of chronic disease in the vaxxed children. It's a trade-off. Parents should be informed both of the risk of disease if not vaxxed, AND the much higher risk of chronic disease if they remain unvaxxed, before making a vaccination decision.

I think there are even more. Recently I read there were over 80 without the COVID jabs. 42 before age 2. When I tell this to my family overseas they think I am nuts. This cannot be true, they say.

did not get the COVID jabs. the last I had was the 7 shots at first immigration request, which was denied, and then 4 more the next year for the second request, which was granted. I swore to myself that would be the last ever! I am 68, at the time in Europe we got pox, polio and in first grade a sugar cube, I am still not sure what that was. That was all, no boosters no nothing. The dog gets the mandatory rabies shot, but first gets tested, and the cats get nothing at all. Jab madness even for animals in the US. My Belgian cat got one oral rabies vax which was told to be life long coverage. Since 2016 there have not been rabies cases in Belgium so I guess it worked.

“Henry Ford Health itself issued a statement … claiming the paper was not published because it “did not meet the rigorous scientific standards required of our institution.”

On October 7th, “Detroit Free Press” reporter Kristen Shamus interviewed Henry Ford Health executive Christine Cole Johnson (Chair of Public Health Science)*17 After “vetting” the study submitted to her by her subordinate co-author Lois Lamerato, Dr. Johnson described what she alleged were “multiple problems with the design” … “flaws in research” [three of the five flaws listed in the HFH 10/26 press release that accused the filmmakers of defamation*7].
Following the Oct 12th premiere of the documentary “An Inconvenient Study,” the HFH PR folks put out a revised press release*29 adding “Myth #5” that referred readers to that DFP interview “for more on our perspective.”
Unfortunately, I haven't seen anyone yet counter these HFH's claims on social media. Instead, everyone seems focused on Dr. Scott & Professor Morris's “debunking” arguments.
These five “flaws” were first reported by “Washington Post” reporter Lauren Weber, who tweeted (9/11/25) a screenshot of the “flaws in the study, according to Henry Ford Health” x.com/LaurenWeberHP/sta… Afterwards, on Sept 20th, I responded to Lauren Weber on X with the following tweets:
Point #0: "In the end, this report was not published because it did not even come close to meeting the rigorous scientific standards we [Henry Ford] demand—not because of the results." Really? None of their specific points hold up (see #1-5). And, the study design followed the 2012 CDC guidelines on studying the safety of the vax schedule. cdc.gov/vaccine-safety/…
Point #1: “The unvaccinated patient sample was vastly different than the vaccinated sample, with more males, more white children, less prematurity and less respiratory distress at birth.“ Vastly different? Point #3a: “time measuring occurrence of disease was much shorter for the unvaccinatedchildren.” True, AVERAGE 2.7 yrs vaxxed vs. 1.3 yrs unvaxxed. But, sensitivity analysis demonstrated consistent results for those enrolled at least 1-year (HR 2.84 CI 2.31-3.28 ), 3-years (HR 3.48 CI 2.67-4.30), and 5-years (HR 4.05 CI 2.82-5.83 ) HIGHER than the overall 2.54 HR! See pp. 6. 8 hsgac.senate.gov/wp-con… And, the KM survival curve shows that vaxxed children had more chronic disease over ALL ages from 1 to 10 years old.
Point #3b: “75% were only observed up until age 3, which is before doctors can confidently diagnose chronic pediatric diseases.” Really? The CDC guide on studying vax schedule safety shows that many more children are diagnosed < 2 years old with a chronic disease, than between 3 – 8 years old! Point #4: “compared multiple vaccines vs. no vaccines. No consideration was given to the number of vaccines or the duration of time between.vaccines and the occurrence of disease.” The authors wrote in Limitations section, “We did not evaluate the influence of temporal relationships, individual vaccines, or the number of vaccines, which limits this investigation but also minimizes the potential for reverse causality.” See p. 14, hsgac.senate.gov/wp-con…
Point #5: “vaccine guidance has changed over time, but that was not taken into consideration.” Wouldn't changes affect both vaxxed & unvaxxed equally, since cohort study over same 16 year period? Unclear how adding new vaccines to CDC schedule would affect results one way or the other.

In his book “Vaccines, Amen”, ICAN attorney Aaron Siri wrote that the “reasons provided [by HFH for not allowing submission of the study] were … all plainly pretextual … easily addressed in the study itself by the sensitivity analyses ... Meaning they were excuses, not reasons to not submit for publication”*12
I agree with Aaron Siri's assessment that each of HFH's & Johnson's so-called “data flaws” can easily be rebutted. Overall, none of Henry Ford's “flaws” actually hold up to even cursory scrutiny. Is that the best they've got? Pretty pathetic “science” on the part of HFH! They're hardly in the position to “cast stones”!

I have to say that this article is the best summary article of the study and film I've seen. Well written, concise and to the point. Linking to previous studies with similar results is also very helpful for the uninitiated. Especially the story around Dr Paul Thomas having his medical licence taken away for just publishing a study.

Among what Henry Ford Health called the five “fatal flaws” of the study, Christine Johnson (HFH Chair of Public Health), called the “most glaring problem ... the amount of time researchers had to evaluate the onset of chronic disease in the unvaccinated patients … 75% were observed only until age 3, which is before doctors can confidently diagnose many chronic pediatric diseases”*17

Henry Ford Health was incorrect to refer to “the amount of time measuring occurance of disease”. In reality, they were referring to the lower average age of the unvaxxed children. ALL children were observed for the same amount of time: from birth until they either left HFH (changed insurance plans, moved, etc) or the end of the study period in 2016 (p.4) *24 Enrollment time ranged from 2 months to 18 years old).
Why were the unvaxxed children younger? I'll address that question in detail in another post. It could be that the unvaxxed didn't stay in the HFH system as long as the vaxxed? (maybe some HFH doctors hassled parents for not vaxxing their children or kicked them out of their practice?).
But, I think another reason is probably toward the end of the study period (2000 – 2016), more parents were probably choosing not to vax their kids. Since this was a birth cohort study, this would result in the average age of the unvaxxed being much less than the vaxxed children (Lyons-Weiler discussed this issue in his (& Dr. Paul Thomas) 2020 birth cohort study which had a similar difference in enrollment time between vaxxed and unvaxxed)*14
In his oral Senate testimony, Siri said the authors addressed the issue of lower average age of the unvaccinated childen by conducting “a sensitivity analysis whereby they removed any children from the study that weren't in the Henry Ford system from birth onward for at least five years thinking, "Okay, well maybe we got it wrong because the unvaccinated kids just had an average duration of less [enrollment] time. But so by doing that [sensitivity analysis], we're only going to look kids who were in there for at least five years."*20
“And what they found was consistent with the findings [including all ages]... the actual risk ratio of chronic disease amongst the vaccinated went up not down. They also did that sensitivity analysis at three years and at one year and each time they still found the in accinated children a statistically significant increased rate of chronic health issues.”(40:31)*20
In more technical language, Siri wrote in his written Senate testimony, “Vaccine exposure was associated with higher incidence of a chronic health condition for subjects enrolled at least 1-year (IRR 2.75, CI 2.31-3.28), 3-years (IRR 3.38, CI 2.67-4.30), and 5-years (IRR 4.09, CI 2.84-5.90) … Meaning … it revealed even greater harm, not less.” (p.7)*11
“Meaning, when they excluded children who were not enrolled for at least 5 years after birth, it showed vaccinated children had 4.05 times the rate of chronic disease … compared to 2.75 times the rate of chronic disease … when looking at children with all enrollment periods … This type of sensitivity analysis again confirmed the strong validity of the study’s results.”*11
Note: The sensitivity analysis shows as the cumulative number of vaccines increases with age, so does the rate of chronic disease. Looks like a dose-response curve to me! In addition, this relationship is also shown by the 10-yr Kaplan Meier Curve showing Chronic Disease-Free Survival. (p. 19)*24
“[Most unvaxxed were observed only up until] … age 3, which is before doctors can confidently diagnose chronic pediatric diseases.”:
The CDC's 2016 “White Paper on Studying the Safety of the Childhood Immunization Schedule”*21 lists the rate of diagnosis of chronic diseases for children from (birth -- age 2) vs (age 3 -- 8 years old)(Table 3.d, p. 32). This table shows that, for most diseases, the diagnosis rate is greater for children < 2 years old. The main exceptions are ADHD which is diagnosed much more frequently in the older children and autism which is diagnosed at similar rates.
In addition, in Hooker & Miller's 2020 vaxxed-unvaxxed study*22 , Table 3 shows that the average age when children in their study were diagnosed with four chronic diseases was 1.7 years old (68% between 2 months & 3 years old) Average age for developmental delays was 2.1 years, asthma 3.2 years, ear infection 1.4 years, and gastrointestinal disorder 1.8 years.
Finally, the Henry Ford Study's Kaplan Meijer curve shows that many children (vaxed & unvaxxed) were diagnosed before age three years old. (p. 19)*24 And, the KM curve showed the relationship of greater amount of chronic disease held for all ages up to at least 10 years old.
So, Christine Johnson's claim that “age 3 ... is before doctors can confidently diagnose chronic pediatric diseases” is incorrect. Besides, as noted previously, the sensitivity analysis that just looked at those children who were enrolled for longer that 3 or 5 years would catch the majority of all diagnoses.
In other words, what HFH's Chair of Public Health Sciences called the “most glaring problem” was a non-issue. In addition, the sensitivity analysis (and KM curve), that rebutts her claim, suggests a dose response curve showing that the more vaccines children received, the more they suffered from chronic disease.

If the study is really "flawed," as HFH claims, the proper response would be to do another study, correcting for the flaws.
I do wonder whether the unvaxxed kids have more conscientious parents, who provide them other health advantages. The followup study could devise ways to estimate that.

Agreed. I wish Dr. Zervos would have had the courage to have taken the chance, even if small, to maybe make a difference. But, Zervos was scared. And for good reason.
Back in 2020, he was the corresponding author of the 2020 Henry Ford study that showed Hydroxychloroquine treatment in the hospital reduced Covid death by 50% (of course, the media & Fauci called the study"flawed"). Zervos took a lot of heat back then. HFH put a gag order on him.
Dr. Paul Thomas published a similar vax-unvaxxed study in 2020 and got his medical license pulled 5 days later. In the film, Zervos even mentioned he didn't want to end up like Peter McCullough who also lost his mainstream career (or the French researcher Didier Raoult).
It's easy to throw stones, but few people, when push comes to shove, are willing to sacrifice. Especially, when they believe they will lose their career for nothing, that their sacrifice won't result in any change. That's why there are so few whistle-blowers out there (see 2019 book "Crisis of Conscience" by Tom Mueller).
Most doctors who bucked the Covid narrative lost their mainstream medical careers, for example: Meryl Nass, Paul Thomas, Pierre Kory, Paul Marik, Peter McCullough. I think everyone likes to believe that would be a hero and would do the right thing, even at tremendous personal cost. Easier said than done.
What Zervos does next will be interesting to watch. He's made it clear he doesn't want to be in the crosshairs again. But how will he proceed with his recommendations and/or vaccine mandates knowing that there is ample reason to be skeptical of their long term benefit?
Whether he likes it or not, the movie has made is true feelings public. He's caught in a tough place. If I were in his shoes I would turn on the establishment immediately and let the chips fall where they may. He's already had a long medical career and probably is not swamped by medical school debt. At some point he should realize that his legacy doesn't mean anything on his death bed. It's always about doing what one thinks is right, not convenient.

I skimmed this over a couple of times. Hate to be that guy but in the spirit of completeness, or raising issues that the other side may have...did this study look into if the unvaccinated kids suffered more from the target diseases of the vaccines? Measles, Diptheria, RSV and the like? I'm on the side that the scale probably tips against vaccines but I am curious about if they at least have some sort of effect on the target diseases as far as studies go. I suspect even if they do its more in diagnosis than reality. That is kids probably still get acute respiratory disease that would be measels but perhaps without the skin reaction, or even with a skin reaction but they aren't tested because of their vaccine status. For example. I do think the anti-vaccine side has to be above board with all details lest they be used to throw eggs on the larger point at hand.
The primary outcome measured was the diagnosis of a chronic disease (so the incidence of target diseases were not measured)
The Henry Ford Study did not look at "target diseases." However, Lyon-Weiler & Dr. Paul Thomas's 2020 vaxxed vs unvaxxed study listed the "target diseases' both the unvaxxed & vaxxed children caught. See Table 7, p. 16: UnVaxxed: 9 cases Pertussis, 2 Rotavirus, 23 Chicken Pox; and Vaxxed : 1 Pertussis, 6 Chicken Pox. Overall, about 1% chance an unvaxxed child caught a target disease, no deaths.
So the vaccines worked well to reduce disease. BUT, on the other hand, there was a much higher rate of chronic disease in the vaxxed children. It's a trade-off. Parents should be informed both of the risk of disease if not vaxxed, AND the much higher risk of chronic disease if they remain unvaxxed, before making a vaccination decision.

Thank you for this comment. Seems like a critical point that is consistently overlooked. Seems like the highly publicized measles outbreaks are not really what they want the public to believe. Not only are unvaccinated more healthy in the long run, you really don’t see them suffering from “vaxxed against” illness either.🤷♀️
