I was sitting in a cottage off the coast of Maine last year with some old, dear friends. They are deeply entrenched in the NYT, and obviously take their marching orders from The Paper of Record. I used to be aligned with them—we were anti-war, pro-democracy, believed in the inalienable rights enumerated in the Constitution… One friend said to the group, “if you had a magic bullet that would kill one person, who would it be?” “Putin” was one knee-jerk response, “DeSantis” another. I was dumbstruck. One might disagree with DeSantis’ policies, but to want him dead? This is what the “Liberal Left” has become—a bunch of cowards who want a magic bullet to careen around killing everyone they disagree with, while they hide behind the Strong Man du jour. I am still anti-war, and pro-Constitution. The only thing that’s changed in my life are the monikers people use to identify themselves.

Come to Greece. A lot more people are aware of the almost complete absurdity of the american presidential theatre. Not as deluded by the mind control, the blinding myth of american exceptionalism and other psychological operations that have been relentlessly deployed on americans for the last sixty or more years. For example, most people that I randomly discuss politics with are well aware that JFK's death was a coup, that the official story of 9/11 is a scam, etc. Most people here are incredulous what a joke America has become: The land of the deaf, dumb, and blind. But other than that, how was the meal?

Meal was yummy (Adelita's!)

I bet it's nicer to be around those with open eyes. But in order to change the world we have to change minds one at a time. Much easier to find minds to change around here...

Agreed.

The Massachusetts woman you described speaks like a child reciting a memorized script.

Having read Mitteldorf’s article last week, I know that her vote and mine will make no difference anyway since the election results will be as scripted as her conversation.

This is the definition of performative democracy. Yes we are being played.

We get taught from early in life that voting in elections is our one and only way to have say over things -- and we get taught that we do get meaningful say that way, which is absurd! So if people hate the Democrats, they feel they have to support Republicans. And if they hate the Republicans, they feel they'd better support the Democrats. Otherwise, they'd come out feeling like they'd have no say over anything at all. Which, sadly, is what happens anyhow.

But we do have some say over things. Large-scale elections just aren't the way to get it. People exercise their power through:

1) Labor unions, particularly in cases where those unions are democratic and are actually fighting for the workers rather than cozying up to management (and, by the way, fighting for greater democracy within your union is one of the most important ways to increase your say)'

2) Boycotts and other coordinated consumer actions (but these efforts only work if they're planned and organized; you aren't accomplishing anything by buying a Prius); and all kinds of forms of organized refusal to cooperate.

3) Protests, especially when those protests target large business rather than the government or when they make business-as-usual difficult to carry out (like the trucker convoy in Canada); these efforts are sometimes especially powerful when churches and other faith communities are deeply involved with them, as happened in the civil rights movement.

4) All kinds of organizations that grow big enough and loud enough that they're hard to ignore.

5) Alternative media outlets (like this blog) to counter the power of the corporate-controlled media. (And again, if you think you're doing something by going to MSNBC instead of Fox, or going to Fox instead of MSNBC, you're not; as Madhava Setty demonstrates in this current post, the big media outlets all protecting the same essential interests, even while they yell their hatred at each other).

I like the saying, "Don't vote, it only encourages them." But even better, I love the saying, "Don't vote, organize."

Let's stop wasting our energy on large-scale elections (local elections are sometimes worth fighting over). Not only are they rigged, but it hardly matters, because whoever wins carries out pretty much the same policies anyhow (Trump and Obama had almost identical policies on most issues), even though they talk a very different talk in front of the camera.

Agree with you 100%, Lundy. And, this topic can be used as more evidence that all legacy media are complicit in telling lies and/or not reporting the truth.

I love that you are always open to engage with controversy...Isn't it fascinating when you respond to those who disagree with a position, with honesty and facts they retreat and refuse to even acknowledge what you present ? Far too many have lost the ability to engage in critical thinking, to communicate...to have the courage to speak the truth...your gonna have to call it : Time of Death Dr. Setty 2021...

Not sure when our Democratic Republic actually expired and was replaced with this pseudo-fascist state. The fatal blow was probably in 1913 with the formation of the Fed and the implementation of a tax on income.

My favorite journalist, the indomitable Whitney Webb, would argue that the “who it is” is the criminal syndicate that has run this country for decades now. The mafia dons, that is. I won’t mention who they are specifically. Watch the interview Neil Oliver did with Whitney Webb as his guest this past week. It’s a must-watch.

I see that everyone is being played. Believing for starters that elections have any meaning. It's funny to watch all the antics, government provoking the masses with election fraud escapades when really, the whole thing is a fraud. Nothing about elections is fair or makes sense. The votes don't count for two reasons - the electorate numbers are all over the map and two, voting on people makes not a scrap of difference because they can implement anything. It's only when we vote on proposals that voting counts and that too needs proper districting otherwise it's just meaningless, even if it is to vote on proposals. I truly wish people would see this - it's looking at the big picture.

Here's another thing to consider. It's been over a month now, and if Trump staged it, there's no way in hell the FBI and Secret Service in their current configuration would be covering for him. What would damage his candidacy more than by exposing him if they possibly could?

Thanks for introducing me to Josh's work. I've been a narrative producer/reporter for public radio, podcasts, and film for many years, and I've pitched this story informally to editors multiple times, but there's never any interest despite the glaring issues. The last time I pitched it, two months ago, the editor and reporter I spoke with immediately questioned whether I was an election denier. One of them assured me that the 2020 election was not stolen because she had checked. Given her progressive leanings, I'm sure it was a surface-level check. I clarified that the story isn't about the 2020 election itself, but rather about the problems with our elections that create perceptions of fraud. I then outlined several issues with our modern voting systems and compared them to older methods. They had no response, and the conversation quickly shifted to another topic. The challenge with this issue is that managing editors and news institutions are not only terrified of addressing it, but for a story like this to reach the broadest public, timing is crucial. No one will distribute even the most well-crafted story about election issues in an election year, and shortly after the election, the public loses interest.

Tracking down evidence of election fraud has seemed like finding a blue unicorn. I’ve been played! The problem was the dems and republicans both piled up the election fraud hay. Many, many thanks for illuminating what matters, specifically: ‘Why would raising questions about election integrity undermine the democratic process?’ And then there’s the $787 million dollar settlement for a voting machine company making $17 million! Tuckers abrupt firing. Disparities between exit poles and election returns. You planted a garden of doubt. Thanks for providing the Josh Mitteldorf articles. I’m looking forward to understanding the mystery.

Check out the interviews with Andrew Paquette on the hidden algorithms he discovered in NY voter lists (subsequently found in 5-6 other states so far as well). As Mark Crispin Miller - and now Andy Paquette - has long asserted, elections in the US, and probably many other countries as well, have been rigged since at least 2000. (Interestingly, Paquette's interviewer Jerome Corsi - re whom I have had strong reservations - while promoting Paquette's discovery, asserts that they screwed up when it came to Trump in 2016. Really??? I agree with MCM that they engineered it in Trump's favor in 2016 and in Biden's in 2020.)

It doesn't matter who reports on matters such as this. It's about means and motive. Sy Hersh wrote a great expose on this. Even Jeff Sachs cannot avoid the obvious:

Remember how the MSM censored every platform (except SS which is https://fasteddynz.substack.com/p/substack-a-ministry-of-truth-production)... blocked all Covid vaccine dissent?

Clearly they control EVERYTHING.

I would argue that any voice that has any form of significant distribution ... and I include Hersh ... Tucker Carlson ... etc...) is under the control of the Ministry of Truth.

Nobody is permitted to deviate from the narratives that the MOT demands get disseminated. If anyone of significance tried to push back... they would be silenced... as in no platform would publish them - and they would be discredited ....

They are in The Club... life in The Club is awesome... it's the best club ever... and because they understand that the Men Who Run the World are all powerful... there is no point in pissing them off... you do what you are told... and you enjoy The Club

I know it's a bit hard to get your mind around this ... but everything is fake... everything. The matrix is real....

It's hard because where does that leave us... if we cannot trust anything that is being spewed out by 'the news'.... what does one do? We end up flailing around in a vacuum unable to discern what is true and what is not.

In any event most people do not want the truth.... they cannot handle it... The Ministry of Truth is necessary...

Even SS is a production of the MOT https://fasteddynz.substack.com/p/substack-a-ministry-of-truth-production

Recent photos of Trump have raised eyebrows, particularly given his former doctor, Ronny Jackson's statements. The medical practitioner had previously stated that a bullet had severely damaged the ex-president's ear during the assassination attempt.

Despite Jackson's claims that the bullet had blown off part of Trump's ear, the new images of Trump meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu show no visible scarring or damage.

Thanks for this comment. I've not heard others use the word "cockroach' for how those who are really in power think of us and have no issues with killing whoever needs to be killed to accomplish their aims. But that is what I have told people, they think of us as cockroaches. That became very clear to me after 9/11. I think 9/11 proved to those who are in power how easily the public can be dupped. I had seemingly intelligent friends believing the pancake theory. And it certainly looks like the Trump "assassination" was staged. And clearly no part of his ear was blown off. No one in the stands behind Trump, had their phone camera out to see what really happened.
