I think your readers here will mostly agree with your thinking. The people who write those comments are likely brainwashed beyond repair. Pediatricians are the worst of the bunch, but that is to be expected since up to half of their total income these days is in managing vaccines. But there are offenders in all specialties. I am a hematologist ("real doctor"...lol) and I agree with everything you say here. Whether one is absolutely pro-vax, anti-vax, or something in-between (and since it is not a religion, being on one end of the spectrum or the other means one has already lost the plot) objecting to studying these things to find out the truth just cannot be a bad thing under any rubric. If these people were certain that the vaccines were wonderful, they would be at the front of the line agitating for these studies so they could be affirmed/vindicated. The fact that they are uniformly terrified of them tells you everything you need to know.

Well said. The problem is that they are not terrified that studies will be done, they believe they have been done. And when pressed, they cite studies that don't answer the question. They are wholly committed to their fantasy.

At seventy years of age, I’m doubtful it will happen within my lifetime but it is my most sincerest hope that through work like yours and RFK jr that vaccines will come to be viewed as having the same usefulness as blood-letting.

A lot of the negative comments may have been by posted by bots and trolls. The drug companies that manufacture vaccines have a lot to lose if the so-called mainstream narrative unravels much further. I’m sure they have invested some of their vast resources in attacking people who contradict the current vaccine narrative in online forums.

Having been on the receiving end of vitriol from crazed people online due to my realization about vaccines (after vaxxing all 4 of my children), I definitely think the majority are bots/paid trolls. They didn’t make sense half the time, did not respond to my statements & always attacked me rather than the argument. It really was not worth getting into a back & forth when they start with an insult like you’re lying or you’re making it up. Anyone with children would take a breath & think about what they’re hearing because they don’t want to harm their own children.

I continue to be baffled by the number of people who react w hysteria and vitriol when challenged. I continue to lose friends every-time I open my mouth and it’s just sad. I only have their best interest at heart but that doesn’t seem to matter. Sucks.

Exactly. Hysteria and vitriol. How may me teach humility? Taking a bit of criticism? I offered to discuss *Mistakes were made, (but not by me)* with my cousin. Silence was my answer.

Thank you very much for your lucid, reasonable and constructive statements. That the naysayers stoop so low is very revealing and sad for them. Stay strong and keep speaking out!

Didn't you love the 9/11 comment? It took all I had to not retort with "Bro, if you don't know what a building being blown apart looks like..."

Indeed! Blindly worshipping the needle is on a par with believing the laws of physics were suspended on 9/11. ;-)

I too vaccinated my kids and didn’t wake up until Covid. I now wear the anti vax label proudly. And “no” I am not a doctor just an awakened mom.

It takes courage and fortitude to stand against the ill informed and stubborn people who are unwilling to listen to another viewpoint. But we are making progress. This dialogue, albeit rude and nasty might instill in these people enough curiosity to garner some research into the corruption in gov agencies and pharma.

Excellent comment you made as reply to that journalist. Too bad so many people there on Twitter are so deluded that they couldn't read what you actually said. I suspect that most who bashed you there on Twitter (such as the several you quote) have both taken and pushed for the jabs and they're in no mood for a think that might lead them to a deep, dark and bat-poop perfumed cavern of regret.

Madhava Setty, MD's avatar

Yes. It's one thing to change your mind. Unfortunately you cannot undo getting jabbed no matter how deep the regret. Definitely something to keep in mind as we face off with these folks.

Yes. So even the word ‘unvaccinated’ is inaccurate. A person cannot be unvaccinated because a vaccination cannot be undone. Vaccine free is better

Doc, I would take your advice over anyone at the CDC or FDA. It is amazing how many modern "doctors" shove a certificate in your face as sufficient evidence of their medical skills. The Argument that a certificate equates to competency is a fallacy born of sixty-one years of mandated mediocrity in the American Public School System.

They have roomfuls of paid commenters who go around dissing people who speak against vaccinations. They all just condescend you rather than address the issue. That only tells they have no argument to offer which keeps your assertion strong. Don't they know that ad hominem is not critical thinking?

I am interested in the mass psychology behind all of this. Ultimately the public has to be dehypnotized. The Asch Conformity experiments have shown that it will only take a small group of dissenters to break the spell of those who follow along with the paid commenters. It is going to take a coordinated effort from all of us.

That was my thought. I was surprised that so many of the comments attacked his specialty. In my mind, anesthesiologists see everything and are responsible for seeing patients through life and death situations every day. So many of these comments seem to be from people who are miserable and have an inability to engage in any intelligent discussion. It is hard to believe comments like this are real. I think the goal was just to attack him and make him regret speaking up. I pray he ignores them all and just speaks louder!

To be honest, it is my hope that more people will join in threads like this to express a counter position calmly. It is very well established that group think is susceptible to reformation if it is perceived that there are others who disagree. It is important to realize that if we wish to actualize real change some of those on the other "side" have to change their minds. The very fact that Bobby is sitting in the cabinet is proof that changing public opinion can have results, even in an imperfect democracy.

“It's truly a spectacle to behold. We are watching a paradigm shift. It will take a while and it will be painful.” This is the crux. It sure feels like we are “in the throes”. Resistance is strong, maybe bots are writing all these idiotic comments against your post on X, maybe they are from real people who are about to fall down and wail that they were lied to and now realize they were duped. Just what is going on is anyone’s guess. What I do know is measles seems to have left the dominant news cycle, bird flu and egg prices are no longer headlines, Martin Kulldorff and Robert Malone are on ACIP, etc etc. I never thought we could get this far. I am optimistic. Where will Peter Hotez and Emily Oster and the CNN Wen woman be in a year? Can we ban drug adverts, reduce the vax schedule, remove some conflicts of interest and have the general population somewhat sanguine to all this. I don’t know. I think we are making some progress.

Madhava Setty, MD's avatar

I too am optimistic and I agree that this turn of events is beyond what most could have imagined a couple of years ago. It is also possible that this may have happened too quickly for us to properly adjust our strategy.

Bobby is playing chess, slowly penetrating the layers of defense around false narratives. It's not just a matter of making reappointments, he has to change a beloved story in the minds of both laypersons and medical professionals.

The pace is dizzying. Hallelujah! There’s a lot of “pent up demand”. People are pissed and they want heads on platters and answers. There is ferocious counterpunching, as there should be given the stakes. Watch stock market caps. As to the infighting among “our”crowd, this is in many respects Sociology 101. We had a common enemy, went thru a war, emerged with surprising victories, and then what. Rival factions jockey. Everyone has a slightly different agenda. Ok. Let maturity prevail. We don’t want the Reign of Terror that followed the French Revolution. We want the five year period after the Treaty of Paris that culminated in the adoption of our Constitution. The cooler heads prevailed. A measured miracle happened. Wisdom shone. We need to each look within! We can do it.

ALL VACCINES ARE SAFE - DOCTORS ON TV SAID SO. ONLY RETARDS WHO DESERVE TO DIE QUESTION THE EXPERTS. (Wait, is "retard" a word the narrative doesn't want me to say?) I meant - ONLY IDIOTS WHO DESERVE TO DIE QUESTION THE EXPERTS. (sarcasm, obviously).

I always appreciate your deep, rooted, writings. Sad that so many are too indoctrinated to understand.
